OECMS: What do they mean for achieving KMGBF Target 3 (30 x 30) in the Caribbean? - Webinar
This webinar, collaboratively hosted by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the Caribbean Protected Areas Gateway (CPAG), and the United Nations Environment Programme – World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC), provided an overview of Other Effective Area-Based Conservation Measures (OECMs) and their role in achieving Target 3 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework: "Conserve 30% of land, waters and seas by 2030'', in the Caribbean.
It also featured presentations on the use of the IUCN OECM Assessment Tool, Guidelines for recognizing and reporting OECMs, the World Database on OECMs, as well as the OECM Discussion Paper for the Cook Islands. Caribbean countries (individuals and organisations) interested in advancing discussions on OECMs at the national and/or regional level and participating in the development of a Discussion Paper concerning OECMs in the Caribbean.
